Program Description

Our program is designed to assist student in high school mathematics, reading and writing; to enable them to not only past high school but to prepare them for when they attend college or university. Targeting any student in the local community that needs academic assistance, RGP is a free educational supplement. Our goal is to be able to provide one-on-one assistance to students, providing individualized worksheets for individual goals. Parents are encouraged to participate alongside their children, providing guidance to the volunteers, providing commitment and continuing reinforcement of the programs' goals. Volunteer teachers from the USF faculty, graduate and advanced undergraduate students, as well as retired schoolteachers, provide small group and individual assistance. The USF program focuses on helping students prepare for the public school assessment tests as well as any additional questions that stem from topics they are studying in general - Physics, Chemistry, etc. Students are divided into appropriate sections in mathematics, reading, and writing. Educational materials are provided free to all students. To help ensure these materials are meeting the needs of each individual student, parents should keep in constant communication with volunteers and executive committee.

Sessions begin at 10 a.m. each Sunday from September through May, except for holidays, on the third floor of Cooper Hall on the USF Tampa campus.
